And now some bottle pics of recent China Glaze collections!
WHERE DOES THE TIME GO? I thought it was maybe two-three weeks since my last post, but I sure was wrong. I guess when you’re having fun (i.e. is too tired to do anything more advanced than breathing and maybe have something to eat) time flies by.
I have managed to aquire quite a lot of polishes though. I’ve thought about swatching but then my energy has just run out and it wasn’t until I got a mysterious package I finally gathered strenght to do something regarding polishes and such. The mysterious package (it was mysterious because I had no idea what it was or who sent it when I picked it up) revealed a golden box inside; containing OPI’s Skyfall collection! Did not expect. I will try to swatch it ASAP, but I hurt one of my cuticles and using nail polish remover hurts, but as soon as it heals I will start swathing like crazy (promise!).
I took some bottle pics of some of my newly(ish) aquired polishes, starting with the ones from Orly.
Ok, so, apparently the names of ‘German-icure by opi’ and ‘Every month is oktoberfest’ on my (and everyone else who was at the swedish press event) bottles had been switched, but I have edited my posts now so they show the correct names. Every month is oktoberfest is the super pretty one!
Swatches of Color Clubs Take Wing collection for summer 2012. These had good formulas, shown in 3 coats and top coat.
The second part of OPI’s Germany collection for fall. I like these colors as well, with the exception of ‘Scnapps out of it’ that’s just… ugly. Formula was great on these too.
This might not be the most exciting collection, but I think it serves it purpose well as a fall collection, and after my visit to Berlin I actually think they picked nice colors for being inspired by Germany. If you’re only going to get one color out of this collection, let it be ‘Every Month Is Oktoberfest’ because it is SO beautiful, doesn’t look like much in the bottle but once on the nail it’s really pretty.

First part of opi’s germany collection. At first, I wasn’t impressed by these colors, but they’ve grown on me. Now that I have tried half of them, and the swedish summer is so gloomy you easily get into an autumn mood, I realize these are great and beautiful colors for autumn. Oh, and the formula? Awesome. Most of these only needed two coats, but I did three and they all went on smoothly.

Opi Vintage Minne Mouse Collection. This collection makes much more sense than the spiderman. The formula is standard OPI (i.e. it’s good or great) and the colors are pretty. It can be a bit tricky to apply the heart shaped glitter but otherwise these are very easy to paint with. My favorite is I’m all ears, I don’t know why but I love these kind of colors!

OPI spiderman collection. You can tell by the quality of the swatches that I didn’t like this collection. Yeah, I’m like that, the less I like the collection the less I care about the photos. I’m sorry OPI, but what where you thinking? Your web or mine is just awful, and btw, I thought these were supposed to be the brights of this year? Also, the formulas were ok but I would expect more from opi, you can do so much better than this, both regarding formula AND colors! Well, the white one was a pretty good white, and just spotted the lizard is a cool duochrome. That’s about it. SON, I AM DISAPPOINT.

China Glaze Prismatic collection. Sorry for the crappy pics. These are supposed to be kind of duo-chrome, but I don’t really see it. Maybe liquid crystal. Otherwise, nice formula, this is 3 coats with top coat. Even though they’re not all that duo-chrome, they are pretty, but the colors are very close to each other so unless you’re like me and gotta catch’em all, you won’t need all of them.
Ah, I have so much to show you, my box of un-swatched is filled to the brim (OPI spiderman, vintage minnie, color club take wing, essie bridal and neons, etc etc). And, of course, I accidentally tore of my middle nail (on my swatching hand) into a super nubbin’. Hope I will be able to swatch again soon!
